Getting to know Crystal
Crystal is a native New Yorker, raised in the Bronx and upstate New York. now residing in Amelia island, Florida, where she enjoys living near nature and the beaches of the Atlantic ocean. She also enjoys the quaint shops and restaurants the area has to offer.
Crystal is a Painter that believes expressions and emotions are the one thing that makes us all so unique and timeless. In each of her paintings she pushes her perspective to create unique emotional and visual experiences. by Manipulating Texture with vibrant color or combining more than one medium to achieve a dramatic effect, Crystal Likes to let her painting share its own uninhibited story. Crystal was quoted saying "I want to say with Art what the heart finds hard to express with words".
Academically, Crystal is a self taught Artist. Although for a short time she was accepted and attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts in New York for Visual Arts, her tenure was cut short due to her family relocating to upstate New York. her work began to find focus on nature and the wildlife she saw around her. Her painting style became more open and organic as she tried to connect to her Art with emotional freedom. focusing on engaging the subconscious and releasing a emotional connection with color and movement. In 1995 Crystal relocated to Orlando, Florida where she began to research and explore more techniques with her artwork. in 2016 she began creating her own unique type of artwork she calls Fractioned Reality. in this body of work she manipulates Precious Metals, vibrant colors, resin and raw minerals with a torch and free hand paints what she sees living with in her abstract world. her goal in creating this unique type of artwork is to elevate the subject in such a way that it tells it’s own story and connects with it’s audience in a very personal and intimate way. it no longer becomes her narrative but the subconscious narrative of the universe and stimulates deep thoughts and promotes positive emotions.
